Hot honey over fried chicken is the new rage. This is a simple and fantastic sauce to drizzle over fried chicken or fish. Or, heck, try it with anything. Sweet, buttery, spicy…what more do you need?
This isn’t even much of a recipe. Just kind of a guide. Make your own adjustments.
1 cup of honey
3 garlic cloves, smashed
1 tsp fresh thyme
1 chili, (thai, serrano, habanero, or whatever your tastes desire), sliced into thin rounds
1 T. butter
Heat honey in a small saucepan over medium heat until liquidy, add garlic, thyme, and chili.
Let simmer for 5 minutes then add the butter. Stir until everything is combined.
Taste for seasoning.
Drizzle over fried chicken.
