Fresh Tomato Sauce with Butter

Yeah, it sounds weird, but it is quick, easy, and delicious.

1/2 stick of butter (4 Tablespoons)
3 cups cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1 medium onion, diced small
Salt and Pepper
Pepper Flakes (optional)
Fresh chopped Basil.
Parmesan cheese

Cooked Pasta

Melt butter in a large skillet, the halved cherry tomatoes and onion.
Season with a bit of salt and pepper (I also added a pinch of pepper flake) and bring to a boil.

Put a pot of salted water on to cook the pasta (spaghetti, linguini, penne, whatever you like).

Stir the sauce a few times and let it reduce. It will probably get a bit thick so thin with some of the pasta water.

When the pasta is done, the sauce is done. Add pasta directly to the skillet and toss. Adjust the sauce with pasta water.
Add some chopped basil and/or parsley. Serve. maybe top with grated parm if you are in the mood.
